More photos from Swarovski Crystal Worlds, continued from yesterday's post:

Giants Accordian (left photo)

 Poseidon’s Puzzle…

This is probably one of the more famous attractions at the crystal worlds, a huge jellyfish made out of crystals and neon light tubes. The lighting colour changes with time to give you different impressions of the same object…
Hope to like the photos I post here, Its a worth a visit if you are not a crystal lover, right?

Swarovski Crystal Worlds part 1

A few miles outside Innsbruck in Watten is the "Swarovski Crystal Worlds" - the plant, showroom and museum of the  precision cut crystal. Swarovski was founded in 1895 by Daniel Swarovski, The Chambers of Wonder was built in 1995 by multi-media artist Andre Heller, it is a mixture of dreams and reality, fairytale characters and mystical creatures.

The underground exhibition chamber is behind the green "Giant" waterfall.

The Centenar, at 300,000 karats, is the largest cut crystal in the world.
As soon as we entered the Crystal World, this super giant crystal sure will capture your attention. Another one captured my eyes is the white horse decoratived with shinning crystal.

Another most wonderful eyes catching thing in Treasure chamber – the mesmerizing chandelier ‘Mediterraneo’ that is made of 140 crystal strands, all consisting of 87 Swarovski crystals that are illuminated by LEDs and are programmed to change the colors. My camera is not able to captuer the beauty at all...
There are total 12 chambers...Well, I will show you some of my favorites:
A crystal tree in Chamber three, (picture on the right) it is called Glittering Winter Dreams. Fashion designer Alexander McQueen and light artist Tord Boontje , created this crystal tree made from thousands of Swarovski crystals mounted on polished steel.

An artwork from the chamber of 55 Million Crystals by Brian Eno …A place that feels like music, Eno has captured the transience of music in a video installation by creating a fleeting visual impression. Music for the eye of the beholder !

Chamber of Wonder Reflections: - a spiral comprising 48 polygons
- the formation, fascination and scientific importance of crystals are documented in pictures, graphics, illustrations and animations

My favourite chamber! Chamber of Wonder:  Crystal Theatre
 a crystal devouring plant...
The painter, stage designer and writer Susanne Schmogner, created this crystal theatre with iridescent figures made of highly diverse crystal-adorned materials. The sun and the moon engaged in a dance beneath the stars.

View of the Altstadt from St Peter's Cemetery Austria

Altstadt is the German language word for "old town", meaning "historical city centre within the city wall", in contrast to a Neustadt built outside later. –From wiki

Beautiful St Peters Cemetery in Salzburg Austria

I love to visit cemeteries, of course are those clean and beautiful one. I cannot really explain why,  it is just an obsession feeling with death or the dead. Those cemeteries are completely fascinating, calming and beautiful to me. I especially enjoy those well kept with stone crafting and flowers…

St Peters Cemetery in Salzburg Austria

Many Chinese are afraid of visiting cemeteries, they believe there are some spiritual things attached to those cemeteries and will bring us bad luck…However this is the 1st time I visited cemetery with a group of people. Yes, our tour visited the St Peters Cemetery Salzburg Austria (It is just next to St. Peter's Church ). Most people will think  that a gravesite is not considered as a first choice tourist attraction, but St. Peter's Cemetery in Salzburg, Austria is. It is one of the oldest Christian graveyards throughout Salzburg. Saint Peter's Cemetery, the oldest Christian graveyard in Austria, in the present condition dating back to 1627. The Sound of Music took place here, this is where they filmed the Von Trapp family when they were in hiding.

The beauty of the cemetery stands out as each individual grave is adorned with flowers, candles, small plants or fir branches and very well taken care of. It is just beautiful and unique.

St Peters Cemetery in Salzburg AustriaAs we were walking throughout St. Peter's Cemetery, I saw some  gravesites belonging to many of the noble families of Salzburg with some very noteworthy names which were well respected. Each individual grave is an art work, I just short of time to slowly take picture of them. :)

More photos from Salzburg

I have writted about Saalzburg for a week, here are some more photos from the trip:

Clock tower of Old Town Hall with Medieval Castle of Salzburg in the background
"Mozart" is everywhere, starting from his birthplace and followed by the many shops selling Mozartkugeln and their decorations. Our tour guide spent almost 45 minutes talking about Mozart in front of this building, I was tired of listening to the story, and so sorry, I don't even know what is about this building, only have the name there : "Universitas Salisburgensis" , but the painting on the wall is beautiful, and I don't know what is the stature in front of the building...
Universitas Salisburgensis

The Goldgasse Street (left picture)
The Goldgasse in Salzburg is a narrow passageway leading from one of the arcades on Residence Square to the Old Marketplace. The passageway owes its current name to the goldsmiths that once had their shops here. A lot of shops selling all sorts items: beautiful jewelry, antiques watches, traditional costumes and books…and much more things, you can’t see all in a day, but I feel most of them are over priced. I only enjoy my photographing…

I especially liked those shop signs, like in Innsbruck, every sign is unique and beautiful. Getreidegasse is the main shopping street in Salzburg, almost every store have wrought iron sign above. This tradition culture due to the oldest days when the people could not read and the icon would tell them what the shop was. Today even MacDonald’s has a wrought iron sign. They look much better tahn modern neon sign, at least to me.

Mozart’s house is located on number 9 Getreidegasse and it is turned into museum open daily.

The last two pictures are the close up of the stone craftings over the entrance of the Residenz plaza and the Fountain in Residenz square, click to enlarge, you will see the wonderful details...Below picture of Residenz plaza from wikipedia:
