Drangonfly at the Lower Peirce Reservoir Park
Ya, dragonfly is one of my favorites among the critters, I always hope to see some special species while I was walking in the jungle. So here are some of the dragonfly pphotos I captured in the past few visit:

This is the rather striking red-winged and common dragonfly, (Neurothemis fluctuans ) can be found along the woonden walkboard trail, on some dry leaves or fallen wood, they are almost still, especially in the humid afternnon.
Another common species, the lovely blue drangonfly also can be seen here, many times, I spotted them staying on a big tree, (just near the sign board of ferns, after a big rubber tree), I believe that is their home.
Just the day before, I captured another two fellows here:
Not a expert thoses insects, and even lack of some common knowledge, I can't figue out their name here, but would like to know them more if anyone who read this post can point out for me, I will very much appreciate it.

Dancing in the wind
“I enjoy photographing the little dragonfly”
Here are a few more of photos of the same dragonfly from my yesterday's post. I would like to share with you the Paul McCartney Little Lamb Dragonfly lyrics too. I like the song though it is a bit sad. Cheers.

Yellow dragonfly-Camera Critter #1
My Six words Saturday here “Be patient to photograph this dragonfly.”
I always think I need to have an expensive macro lens to take good images of insects such as dragonflies. I am quite surprise to see this result of the yellow dragonfly, the photo was taken last week while I was jogging in a park, that was a cloudy evening time, some dragonflies were flying around the pound. I decided to go back to my car to take a camera to photograph those dragonflies. I was using Richoh Caplio R7, a very common digital camera, I am surprised it still can take detailed shots of dragonflies, all I need is Patient.
The hardest way to photograph dragonflies, is to chase one that is busily flying around. It is not easy to choose to photograph one that is sitting still. It took me about an hour time to capture one that is motionless. I lost my patient sometime. Finally it was done. I set my camera to continuous mode and shoot several bursts at once. This will help me to improve chances of at least one image being sharp and in focus. It is still disappointed me as the eyes of this dragonfly in the photo aren’t sharp enough, the photo looses some impact.
Anyway, I enjoy to take this photograph and learn something new, I used to take photograph of something in “big”. Taking photograph of dragonfly is a challenge to me as I am a person always lack of patient.
Happy weekend! I am going to join Camera Critters this week....it is a fun meme where everyone posts some of their critter captures. Still I like to visit Six words Saturday, I enjoy reading the posts from participations here at Six words Saturday, it is an interesting meme where I find a lot of wonderful bloggers.

Welcome Our Dragonfly
Catch the cloud in the water is my previous shot at same location. Here is another shot taken with my cell phone one day while jogging at SengKang Riverside Park. The little red dragon fly is invited to join the Watery Wednesday here, and enjoy the Outdoor Wednesday here.
Though the dragon fly is not that very clear in picture, but I am happy with the result of my cell phone camera. Anyone is using cell phone camera to take photos? Comments are much appreciated.
