Egyptian Goose

I thought goose are all in white until I saw this one...
photo was taken in Fish Hoek Beach Cape Town, South Africa

The Egyptian Goose (Alopochen aegyptiacus) is a member of the duck, goose, and swan family Anatidae. It is native to Africa south of the Sahara and the Nile Valley.Egyptian Geese were considered sacred by the ancient Egyptians, and appeared in much of their artwork. They have been raised for food and extensively bred in parts of Africa since they were domesticated by the ancient Egyptians. Because of their popularity chiefly as ornamental bird, escapes are common and small feral populations have become established in Western Europe. -Wiki

Mother Goose with Baby Goslings, I was watching them swim freely while waiting for our helicopter tour in Cape Town, South Africa.

Looking Down From Cape Point Light House

We took a the Flying Dutchman Funicular runs from the car park to the north up to slightly below the level of the old lighthouse,  some steps leads to a viewing platform around the base of the lighthouse.  Where I had my stunning views of Cape Point here and took some photographs of the rock formations and the ocean.   I was so exctied to be experiencing such an incredible scene!
From the end of the railway there is a second path leads to the lower peak, which I wish I would take a walk there if I ever had chance to come back here.

Cool Rocks & Signs At Cape Point

Few places in the world serve up such dramatic and diverse ocean views with huge rocks and strong waves...I was really speechless when I was there at cape point...

A sign plaque marks the spot, this is probably the most photographed sign in South Africa.  Most of  visitors take a picture here, to declare that they are standing at the most south-western point of the African continent! A sweet photo to bring back the memory of standing on a site of such significance in future. :) But there are too many people standing there to take photos, I rather walk around and admire the cool rocks, here they are:

The other very commonly photographed sign is the directional sign-post at the viewpoint at the lighthouse. Visitors pointing to the sign that show how far away home is! However I cant remember I have seen the sign of Singapore there, a little red dot country. :)

African Buffalos

The African Buffaloes, one of the "Big Five",  these large cow-like animals are also called Affalo or Cape Buffaloes. The large droopy ears and low curved horns, make this animal easy to recognize.

The African Buffaloes are mostly found in many parts of the African forests, the beautiful African woodlands.

These dangerous animals live close to water, near the swamps which are flooded with the dangerous Nile crocodiles and many of the dangerous venomous snakes living along the grasslands.

Fabulous! Helicopter Flight In Cape Town

Our tour package has included the helicopter flight in Cape Town, it was quite exhilarating, especially this was my first flight in helicopter. If you are planing to visit Cape Town, I really think this is a 'must' do activity there, the whole experience were excellent!

The views from on top of the sea, Sights of the city with views of the new Cape Town Stadium, the beautiful beach and mountain...
"Fabulous!"-the only word I can say. Fun memory with all those photos taken in flight.

Memory From South Africa: Fun Stay

"Located against a backdrop of scenic mountainous vegetation, the Mabula Game Lodge can be reached from Johannesburg and Pretoria within a two hours drive. The malaria free, 12000 hectare Mabula Private Game Reserve is home to an abundance of animal and birdlife, including the "Big 5". Exclusive accommodation is offered in en-suite, air-conditioned thatched chalets and suites which offer guests every comfort in a scenic natural setting.

Situated in a mountainous vegetation, the natural design and architecture of the Mabula Game Lodge blends in well with the natural surroundings. Upon arrival, the elegantly furnished lounge and reception area, immediately set a welcoming and relaxed tone. "----When I stepped into the  Mabula Game Lodge, I know what I read from the hotel information page is what I have seen.

...a big tree full of bird nest stands just in front of  the Mabula Lodge Lobby, I was amazing the beautiful African weavers with its art work...and there are many other birds around the area...

...very nice decoration everywhere around the place...

...a big tree grows against the rock, and we found a big cobra under the roots, quickly informed the hotel, I paid more attention when I was walking around in the night, just in case I step on some snake. Lols.

...admiring the succulent plants in their garden, they all have old and tick stem...My favourite Jade plant here grow like a tree...

a small crocodile farm in the hotel area,  ...and guess what is the guy below?
Rock hyrax, a few of them playing around the hotel room we stay, one of them was staring at me when I brought up my camera....
Yeah, nice environment here, plus a lot of fun: Every evening there was a traditional dance performance by local dancers, and African Folk Music, presented by a local tribe, in the dining hall at Mabula Game Reserve.
