Fungi @ MacRitchie Nature Trail

I never ever expected I could see so many fungi grow in wild in Singapore, until yesterday I went for a walk with friends along the MacRitchie nature trail  towards the The TreeTop Walk, not far from the Venus Drive entrance, we saw a group of fungi growing on a tree trunk,  Many many fungi!

...they are round in shape, white colour with a bit brown, look quite the same as thoses sold in the super market, but the petals are not that soft, not hard either.
Another type of fungus we saw... this is a common species in Singapore as I always encountered it,  the petals are hard, in a shape like shell. Probably due to the high rainfall these few days, we found lots of other fungus along the walking trail, they are growing here and there on some dead trunks etc, but not like the first one we saw, so many growing on the same trunk.
...these are beautiful, they are thin and soft
This large bracket fungus was found on a piece of wood along the main trail, it is very hard, and with the green on it.
This found on a wood alongside the road, near the car park.
Now, I start to have more and more interest in fungi, since my the previous post
Fungi @ Dairy Farm Nature Park. I will find more info about fungi. So this post is for
Sweet Shot Tuesday and Outdoor Wednesday. I will post more photos from MacRitchie nature trail next week, when I have more free time...Let me know if you like my these fungi photos and share with me yours.

Hi there - interesting set of pictures - I always like to have a look at fungi, they are such strange things!

Spent a few days in Singapore a few years ago and was surprised at how many birds I saw - rather liked some of the parks as well.

You know, it might sound funny, but I never thought of fungi as cool things, but your post was great! It's all about attention to detail; nature is pretty awesome. :)
