Charming old town: Heidelberg part1

Heidelberg is a magnificent old town set in some of the most handsome scenery in Germany. This exquisite small city has a lovely Baroque Old Town and a massive, impressive castle. Though the day our tour visited the place was soooooo cold and raining, (if it was a sunshine day, wow how good it can be!), I still have a nice feel about this beautiful city…
View of old town, the Neckar river and the "old "stone bridge from Heidelberg Castle.

Nice view, fresh air, and if I learn how to enjoy beer and of course if I could take the cold here, I wish I could stay here for a long long time...

Beautiful Old Town, Old Bridge, and the church in one frame..I love the color of this city.
The city has an especially good selection of cafes ranging from chic to cozy.

 The Bridge Monkey

Creepy monkey sculpture by the Old Bridge. That supposed to be a mirror he's holding. We are encouraged by the tour leader to stick our head inside the head of the Monkey, like wearing a mask for a photo or to give it a kiss for good luck. I have chosen to skip both activities.
Entrace of the Heidelberg Old Bridge to the town in the back ground, charming narrow street in the city...

What a lovely fairytale city. I could almost hear the drinking song from the Student Prince as I browsed through your photos. I hope you are having a great day. Blessings...Mary
