Salzburg was the birthplace of 18th-century composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the mid-20th century, the city was the setting for parts of the musical and film The Sound of Music, which also features famous landmarks in Austria. With three universities, Salzburg is the capital city of the State of Salzburg (Land Salzburg), and is home to a large student population. -From wikia Baroque townhouse with the wall pained yellow

Getreidegasse 9, Salzburg
The famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born here on January 27, 1756. Now it has become a small museum and opened for public viewing. I love the stonework above the door. Simple by Salzburg standards, but beautiful.View of Mirabell Garden with the Hohensalzburg Fortress from behind.
Some of scenes from The Sound of Music were recorded here, where the children and Maria were singing "Do-Re-Mi", while dancing around the fountain and using the steps as a musical scale. We visited the Mirabell Garden in late evening time while it was getting dark, and it was so cold…My camera was run out of battery, so I only can use the other smaller one…All my photos taken in the Mirabell Garden have the frozen look…
Well, I still managed to take some photos of the lovely benches in this garden, benches again, I just loving them.
Lovely and lonely benches in the Autumn
