Pfeiffer Beach: Purple Sand, Old Big Trees

Some photos update from My Road Trip Pacific Coast Highway LA to San Francisco: along our drive through Big Sur, visited Pfeiffer Beach.

The road to the beach is a little hard to find, no sign seen from the main road for turn off, lucky we used GPS...It is a narrow one lane road, about  2 miles drive lead to the beach car park, lots of winding and twisting turns and the road seems to only fit 1 car at a time. It requires skill driving especially when you come across another vehicle in the opposing direction, lucky that our friend is good in driving and direction. However, it is a very beautiful road. Beautiful autumn scenery though it is winter December.

At the end of the small road, the beach is hiding behind a forest...

a big cypress tree will sure catch your attention...

The big old trees by the beach are simply stunning,
I wonder how the pines and forest grow by the ocean...

There are incredible photo opportunities for every angle...

...the famous rock arch in the ocean.
The way the water crashes through the rock "doorways" is fantastic.
The sand was nice and soft...

Scenic views, purple sand, shoreline rock formations, beautiful big sea anemone, they were added sweet memory to my road trip.

I was told these are abalone, really?

...swirling patterns on the Pfeiffer Beach, amazing.

Does it look like an Elephant Seal?

...a hidden beach you shouldn't miss it if you traveling to Big Sur.
