My Road Trip Pacific Coast Highway LA to San Francisco: Elephant Seals

Elephant Seal Rookery at Piedras Blancas is just north of San Simeon, On Hwy 1 just about 4 miles North of  Hearst Castle. This location saw seals return in the early 1990s. Since then, the population has exploded to well over 1000 at times.

Seeing the elephant seals in their natural setting was a fantastic experience.

It was amazing! There were so many seals that they were piled on top of each other for the entire stretch of sand.
