Bukit Brown Cemetery

Having a half an hour break to take a afternoon walk at Bukit Brown Cemetery,  A dual four-lane road will be constructed across the Bukit Brown Cemetery by 2016 to alleviate congestion along Lornie Road and the Pan-Island Expressway during peak hours, the new road will be opened, the area will be changed to another modern housing estate and shopping center in the sooner future. While no private land will be acquired for this project, it is estimated that the road will affect about 5 per cent of the more than 100,000 graves in the Bukit Brown Cemetery.

So I just came to take a look...Though I don’t have much knowledge about the place, being a Chinese, I don't even have much knowledge of old Chinese culture sucg as things in the cemetery, just a short walk to know a little bit here and there about this oldest Chinese cemetery in Singapore.

...some old store figures at the  cetemery, I believe there are many more beautiful stone figures in side the cemetery, I was looking for Sikh figures stand guard  too, but I had not much time that day, plus too many mosquitoes and I am afraid of stray dogs...
Do you see what I see?
Ya, the benches...
I can't resist to photograph benches whereever I go...

The faded charm, detail of the rusted wrought iron gates.

By the way I like the unique surrounding and the serenity atmosphere here, but there are too many mosquitoes here, unlike walking in those nature reserve area, well taken care by National Park...
The gate from far...
...and the sky, look up only see the trees.
Well, happy weekend, I am planing to come to this place one more time, still better I can find some company, I am really afraid of dogs, not the so called ghost,
Haha...

I love to see those tombs, some can be so majestic with beautifully crafted animals. There used to be more of them in Bishan , near the MRT., I used to pass that area often before the land are redeveloped into housing estate.
