I hate lizards. . .they use to crawl our walls when I lived in Hawaii. I use to kill them by vacuuming them up. . . BUT that is a great close up photo!
Very close encounter with the monitor lizard. It did not try to run away when it saw you? Usually when I saw one, it would turn and run away quickly.

love a lizard simply because where they are is guaranteed to be warm!! and i love a bit of warm weather.
Oh, he's beautiful, and he has quite an intelligent eye, doesn't he?
I saw some desert lizards recently, while on holiday, but haven't seen any here in England for a very long time.
