Zhouzhuang Wanshan Pig Trotter

pork_leg
Wansan pig trotter-the local Zhouzhuang specialty -- pork leg, they look so nice, so delicious.

If you have been to China, especially the area near Shanghai, properly you will heard of this Zhouzhuang, one of the most famous water townships in China, which is noted for its profound cultural background, the well preserved ancient residential houses, and of course this famous Wansan pig trotter.
Wansan Pig's Trotters, a kind of pork leg, is the most famous food in Zhouzhuang. You can find a lot of  restaurants featured with a big sign board of pig trotter. Wanshan pig trotter with heated local Shaoxing yellow wine, that is their best treat. From big restaurants to small stores, everywhere selling these Wansan pig trotter, many of them claim that they are the original Wanshan pig trotter, but I don’t see any differences among those fatty pork leg stewed in soy sauce, they are so shinny under the light…It look really delicious but I didn’t dare to try, I saw a lot of flies on top of the delicious food.
:) Anyway, that was the story of my last trip to Zhouzhuang back to 2 years ago. I found out this picture to share with other bloggers who join our great Ruby Tuesday. Thank you for reading my story, I will post more of the great photos of Zhouzhuang next time. That is really a pretty small town, the beauty is highlighted especially in form of digital photos, every angle is so perfect…
Below is a little bit information of Zhouzhuang:

Zhouzhuang Town is located 38 kilometers southeast of Suzhou City and 33 kilometers southwest of Kunshan City. It is one of the many wonderful daytrip excursions from Shanghai. You can arrive to Zhouzhuang from Shanghai in 4 hours via the well-networked highway system of the Yangtze River Delta.
